About Me:

I am a small package full or bursting energy that needs to come out! Me and the Energizer Bunny have one thing in common, we can keep going, and going, and going, and going, and … well you get the point. I need a yard and a big house to live in because I do bark when I am anxious or excited, so that can cause issues for our neighbours.

Foster Notes:

Tommy came as an owner surrender from a client of the The Pack Dog Training after his family could no longer care for him. He is a very sweet and very active little guy that can sometimes let his feelings get the best of him.

He would do best in a home that has Jack Russell or small terrier experience, and definitely a home that can keep his mind and body engaged. Tommy is does have separation anxiety and would do fantastic in a home with someone who works remotely or is retired but still active. He does an amazing job just hanging out in the house all day while you work, he does great with stationary work and even amazing in the crate as long as I’m home, however he does struggle when his current foster leaves. When left at home alone Tommy is a barker, however he has been left home alone before and eventually he does calm down and does not cause any damage.

For exercise Tommy and his current Foster do a short morning walk and then either a 1 hour or 2 hour walk in the evening and that’s enough for him, but he also loves to play ball in the afternoon. Basically he’s good to chill when you want him to and he’s good to go when you need too, and he can go! 1,2,3 or 4 hours, he’s just happy to do what you want. This would make Tommy an excellent option for anyone who likes being involved in canine activities like canine sports, urban scent work, ratting, etc.

Tommy is good with other dogs with a proper intro, but his foster has been taking things slowly as he has shown a little bit of dog reactivity on leash, but responds extremely well to gentle corrections with the ecollar.

His loose leash heel walk is perfect, recall is a work in progress but he’s showing progress. Doesn’t like to be man handled or rolled over, and loves pets and cuddling. Tommy's Foster's have also shown him how to get off the couch with a command vs pushing and man handling him.

While Tommy does need a home committed to doing some training still, (which will be provided by The Pack Dog Training for whoever adopts him), he’s overall a great guy who has a lot of life and love to give.
