Jet comes into the PB & Chi Pack as a local owner surrender after his current Mom reached out to us for help finding her boy a home that could give him all the time and attention he deserves. Nobody knows Jet better than her so this is what she has to say about him:
“This is Jet. He just turned two years old on July 3rd! He is an American Staffy, Boston Terrier and Besenji mix according to his DNA test. He is a very loving, snuggly 60lb lap dog who just wants to be with his people. He likes to curl up on the couch or hog the bed. He loves giving kisses. He is friendly with other dog as he has gone to doggy daycare since he was a puppy and goes on off leash pack walks. He is always down for a good hike or a walk to burn off some of his high energy. He likes to swim, but hates the rain. He knows a lot of tricks and is willing to learn anything if you have any form of food or kibble! He walks nice on leash with a martingale collar or halti.
He gets soooo excited when you come home, he jumps and has to grab things out of your hands. We have always struggled with front door manners due to excitement with his mom and guests. He is getting better at bringing/grabbing a toy as a distraction. Not giving him attention immediately as you walk through the door helps as well. He does tend to bark in unknown situations. He has had a few off leash dogs intimidate him while on leash so he is always on guard and gets reactive when they come right up to him.
He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He would come with his large selection of pre chewed toys that haven’t yet been destroyed, a large kennel (semi kennel trained), multiple leashes and collars, slow feed bowls, beds, blankets, sweaters and other supplies. He has taken his prep course for his Canine Good Neighbour, Basic Manners, and has had several one on one training sessions. All vet records would be available for his new parents!
Jet would do best in a home where his people are around more than his current Mom is now. He has no problem being free in the house while his Mom is away for 13 hours for work. He isn’t destructive and doesn’t have accidents. He would not be recommended for small kids (<12 years) as he sometimes doesn’t know his own strength. He hasn’t been tested with cats, but would probably try and chase them so no cats please. I think he would absolutely love living with another dog his size or larger. He needs someone who is consistent with boundaries and able to meet his high energy needs!”
As with all our dogs, he is neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped. If you are interested in being Jets forever home, please fill out an application under the Foster/Adopt tab.
