Sunny, Sunny-girl, Ms. Boo: Destroyer of stuffies and a second shadow to her people. Sunny has so much love to give. She is incredibly affectionate, and she is not shy about asking for cuddles or attention. She is very smart and very food motivated which makes for easy training. She knows the basics – sit, down, look – and knows she needs to wait for food. She is a pro at fetch (at least in the house). She is also crate trained and toilet trained and is very good at letting us know when she’s ready to go out by going to the door. We’ve had her on a pretty consistent schedule, that she’s easily adapted to. Having a backyard would be a huge plus for her, but she has shown some prey-drive on our walks (squirrels and birds flying over head). While she pulls a little on walks when she gets excited, she focuses back on us very quickly with l”ook here.”
We have noticed that she has some resource guarding tendencies when it comes to food and space but only with our other dog. He is unfortunately very shy, so he let’s her walk all over him. Sunny still has puppy tendencies and will need some training with basic manners as she likes to jump up and sometimes puts her nose on the table and counters. While we don’t have kids or cats, with her jumping manners the way they are, older kids would probably be better. We feel she would thrive with a confident dog or would love being a solo dog and having playdates 🙂
