Sammie is a 3 year old male Chihuahua mix who weighs about 9lbs. He came up to us from our friends in California at the Eastwood Ranch Foundation, after being surrendered at the shelter for reasons unknown.

This little guy is very shy and a bit nervous but he warms up pretty quickly and then it is nothing but cuddles, snuggles and playing. He loves going for a good walk and having some playtime, but he also likes to hang out on the couch and watch Netflix on the blanket as well. Sammie currently is in a foster home with 3 other dogs with whom he gets along with great, same with cats, he is respectful of their space and follows the others to understand the way of the home.

Sammie does walk with a little bit of a limp in one of his back legs, but after being thoroughly looked at by one of our vets we can find no cause for this and nor does it bother him or slow him down, however he doesn’t liked to be picked up a lot unless he comes to and asks you to pick him up. Due to this and his shyness, we don’t think a home with kids would be a good fit for Sammie. He is fully housetrained and goes to the door when he needs to go out.

He is crate trained, walks well on leash, and has no resource guarding. He does whine and whimper when you leave for a few minutes but then settles down completely and can be home alone for 9 hours and will be so excited when you return!

Sammie is neutered, fully vaccinated, and ready to meet his forever home. If you are interested then email us at or fill out an application under the Foster to Adopt tab.
