Max came to us from Texas as a puppy and was fostered by an awesome home where he never left, however times have changed and the family is having to relocate but is not able to find housing that will allow them to keep their beloved dog, so Max is looking for a new forever home.

He is an energetic dogs that needs very slow introductions with men and other dogs, and then becomes friends. Max is used to a home with a big yard to play in, however with the right home that is able to provide him enough exercise, a yard may not be necessary. Max currently is not great on walks as his previous home did not do a lot of leash work with him, so someone willing to invest the time in helping Max with his leash skills would be amazing! When out in the yard Max happily entertains himself.

Max has been a great family dog, was best friends with the other dog in the home, and is good with kids that can understand boundaries. Loves to spend his days sleeping on the couch, chewing a toy or snuggling at your feet.

He has a goofy smile, a heart of gold, and a love for cuddles. He’s playful and affectionate once he knows you, and bonds deeply with his people. Max can be a little cautious at first, especially with men and new dogs, but once he trusts you — it’s game on! You’ll have a loyal, snuggly best friend for life. Max is housetrained, crate-trained (though he’d prefer not to be crated), and completely non-destructive. He enjoys lounging on the couch, chewing on toys, and being near his humans. He’s been working hard with Shena on improving his leash skills, confidence, and socialization — and we’re so proud to share that he’s now cat savvy, too!

Max would thrive in a home with kids who understand dog boundaries, and would love a fenced yard to play in — but it’s not essential if his family can give him enough daily exercise and mental stimulation. He’s neutered, fully vaccinated, and in great health — just waiting for his person to come along.
