Remington, or Remy for short, is a 18 month old 140lb mastiff that came to us as a local owner surrender. His life didn’t start off so great, and he didn’t get a lot of the experience most do meeting new people and being a part of the outside world.
He’s had two foster with us; one with two kids, two dogs and cats with an in home business and the other with a busy farm with dogs and cats and chickens. New people are his toughest challenge and his fosters are working hard on getting him desensitized to meeting them….patience and treats go a long way! He is also muzzle trained, which helps keeps everyone calm and comfortable.
His fosters know him best, and here’s what they say about this BIG baby:
I’m a big playful goof, weighing roughly 140lbs. I get along with my foster siblings also from PB and Chi dog rescue, and they have a calm cat Sadie that I respect and love ! I love to play with ropes and chew bones. I wasn’t crate trained when I came here but now I’m a pro. I know my commands and really love treats. I don’t really suffer from separation anxiety but when I love my people I love hard. I don’t mark inside the house but my leash manners need work because I don’t realize how big and strong I am. I am nervous with new people and takes me time to trust, but with patience and time I really want to please people. I can’t wait to find my forever home with a strong skilled large breed owner that will work with me.
He is medium energy, and would do best in a quieter home with not a lot of visitors coming and going often.
As with all our dogs, he is neutered and up to date on all shots and vaccines.
We are looking for a patient and breed experienced family who is willing to put in the work to make Remy the breed ambassador we know he can be! If you are interested in Remi please fill out an application under our Foster/ Adopt tab, or if you have previously applied to us before, please send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
