🐾 Meet Summer 🐾

Summer is a beautiful Golden Doodle mix with a heart as big as her smile. At just 9 months old and approximately 50 lbs, she's growing into a fun-loving, affectionate companion who is ready to find the family she's been waiting for.

Summer is up to date on her vaccines, has no known medical conditions, and is thriving in foster care. After recently going through her first heat cycle, she's feeling great, gaining healthy weight, and is excited to start the next chapter of her life. Because she's still growing, PB & Chi plans to have her spayed once she's at least one year old, with the rescue covering the cost of the procedure.

Affectionately known as a "Velcro Dog," Summer loves being close to her people. While she may be a little shy when meeting someone new, it doesn't take long before she's leaning in for affection and becoming your constant companion.

Summer has a playful, social personality and genuinely enjoys the company of other dogs. Having spent some time with limited social interaction before coming into rescue, she can become a little overexcited during introductions, but she's making wonderful progress with continued guidance and positive experiences. She's also cat-friendly and has done well around children.

Like any young dog, Summer is still learning. She's been working hard on her leash manners (although she still likes to zig-zag on walks!) and has made fantastic progress with her training. She already understands threshold work, down stays, and recall, and she's eager to continue learning with a family committed to helping her succeed.

Summer is crate trained and settles nicely when given something to keep her busy. Like many young dogs, she's still learning that being home alone isn't so scary and may bark or howl when left by herself. Because of this, she'd be happiest in a detached home rather than an apartment or condo where close neighbours could be disturbed.

🏡 Summer's Ideal Home

Summer would thrive with an active family that enjoys including their dog in everyday life. She loves being involved and happiest when she's spending time with her people. While not a requirement, we believe she'd really enjoy having another friendly dog in the home to play with and continue learning from.

Her ideal family will understand that she's still a young dog with lots of enthusiasm and will continue building on the wonderful foundation she's already developed through positive training, consistency, and patience.

If you're looking for a loyal companion who will happily join you on adventures, curl up beside you at the end of the day, and fill your home with love and laughter, Summer might just be the perfect match.

Watching Summer continue to blossom has been such a joy, and we know her forever family will feel the same. She's ready to give her whole heart to a family who will include her in theirs—and we think she's going to make someone incredibly lucky. 💛
